With over 50 Beatport top 100 releases and over 4 million plays on Spotify, Erik and his NastyFunk have continually graced the club scene the world over as well as regularly garnering features from the likes of BBC Radio 1 to Mixmag and all thats in between.
House grooves with techno attitude are his latest signature sounds that have found itself on solid abels such as Great Stuff, Formatik, Roush, Kittball, Flashmob, 303Lovers, Cr2, Resonance Records and his own baby, NastyFunk. Not to mention regular love from dons such as Marco Carola, Steve Lawler, Jamie Jones, Camelphat, Luciano, Joseph Capriati, Lee Foss, Maceo Plex and Richie Hawtin.
Having grown up in the suburbs around Liverpool – a city with a rich culture of music – Erik made his first steps into the music scene when he launched his label in 2011. In the same year, his first EP ‘Cosmic Girl’ was a huge success, gaining worldwide major FM airplay, months in the Beatport tops, and getting dropped by Solomun on his now infamous Essential Mix. Within a year Erik had already played at venues like Pacha (London), D Edge (Sao Paulo), Club Lola (Shanghai) and La Plage (f. Ushuaia, Ibiza). The foundations of an incredible journey.
With a focus on the lost art of fun, Erik’s aim is to bring energy to his productions and his DJ sets. Punchy bass, onward grooves, top-end life and contagious percussion take over the mix, with a smattering of melodic riffs, hooky vocal snips and the obligatory minor keys. Erik drums up the perfect concoction having kept dance-floors interested from Europe to Asia to Africa to America and beyond.
