Cambridgeshire born, Micah Baxter is slowly stamping his name onto the DJ and producer maps both in the Uk and worldwide, with fresh new takes on electronic music which has fused him to deep tech and minimal sounds with punching kicks, heavy baselines and vocals.
Micah started out back in early 2017, being inspired by going out to events and surrounded by house music, he brought a basic controller and started teaching himself to mix with the aid of watching and listening to others online. From there, Micah started recording and putting out mixes up on his Soundcloud and mixcloud and started gaining interest from local events and venues, which then spiralled out into him starting to play at these events and venues. It didn’t really progress much from there until 2018 when Micah received his first ever residency , however this one not being in the u.k , but in malia, Crete. Micah spent the whole summer of 2018 playing seven days a week in different venues and clubs around the resort, supporting artists and gathering a following. After a very busy summer abroad Micah came back to the u.k but with a goal in his mind to learn and start producing his own music and putting it out there.
This lead to Micah collaborating with Sheffield producer Brad Guest , and getting his first track singed in January 2019. ‘Take Me’ which is signed on sticker music , slowly crept its way into the Beatport hype tech charts landing them an overall chart place of number 83. This then gained interest with Micah, along with the experience from the summer of 2018, Micah started a very busy year of playing in early 2019 playing events in Birmingham, Manchester, London, Maidstone, Liverpool, Nottingham and more. 2019 Micah also secured his residency back in malia Crete for the 2nd season running which meant he spent the whole summer again out in the greek island. However while away the producing didn’t stop, Micah and Brad went on to release two more E.Ps this time with Subsense and D.I One records. One of the biggest outcomes from this , Micah secured himself a booking over in the white isle of ibiza and went on to be put on the lineup of ibiza rocks.
Back from another busy summer in 2019, Micah and Brad then put out a free release of there heavy remix of the classic Gorillaz – Feel good inc which they named ‘G-Rilla’. This gathered a lot of support and plays this landed at number 14 in the tech house chart. Since releasing their last track Micah has gone on to play more events and venues all over the uk , landing himself the biggest booking yet to date in December 2019, supporting Patrick Topping and Alan Fitzpatrick at Forbidden 42. Since Beginning 2020 Micah has focused on his producing releasing more free download edits via his soundcloud.
